Steam time: 20–30 minutes

Blend time: 1 minute

Total time: ≈ 30 minutes

ingredients
method
  1. Prep the beetroot by peeling and chopping it into roughly 2 cm cubes. Don’t forget to wear gloves to avoid staining your hands!
  2. Add water to the KiddoKook Pro’s tank up to the steaming line. Place the beet cubes into the steam basket and steam for 20 minutes. Check for softness; if still firm, steam for another 8–10 minutes (about 30 minutes total) until completely tender.
  3. Transfer the cooked beetroot into the blending container. And blend until smooth.
  4. Optional: to thin out consistency, add some of the reserved steaming water or 1–2 tablespoons of breast milk while blending.
  5. Allow to cool before serving.
storage guide

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours.

For longer storage, freeze portions in silicone trays (like the PureePops Tray) for up to 2 months.

Thaw overnight in the refrigerator and reheat gently using the Steam function on the KiddoKook Pro or with a warm water bath before serving.

tips

Avoid stained hands: Wear gloves and use a silicone mat to keep from staining hands and surfaces when prepping.

Texture control: Add reserved steaming water or breast milk for a thinner consistency. For older babies, use less liquid or use the Pulse setting for a thicker texture.

Mix & match: Combine with carrot, sweet potato, or cauliflower purée for a milder flavour.

Flavour boost: A small pinch of baby-safe herbs (like parsley or dill) complements beetroot beautifully once your baby is ready for new tastes.
