Most vegetables take 15 to 20 minutes. Fruits are done in around 15 minutes. Meat and fish take a bit longer, about 25 minutes for chicken or beef, 15 minutes for fish. Defrost is around 10 minutes and reheat around 5.

In practice, a batch of sweet potato puree from start to finish, including the self-clean cycle, takes me under 25 minutes. I usually do two or three recipes at once on a Sunday and that’s the week sorted.

Essentially anything you’d want to make for a baby or toddler. Vegetables, fruit, chicken, beef, fish, lentils, legumes. You can steam and blend all of it. We use ours for everything from Theo’s first sweet potato puree at six months through to the pasta sauce I still blend pumpkin and carrot into now that he’s three.

It also handles reheating, defrosting, and sterilising small items like teething toys and baby cutlery. The steaming basket is dishwasher safe, which I mention because the cleaning situation matters just as much as the cooking.

Yes - the bowl, steaming basket, blade, and spill-proof cover are all dishwasher safe. The main body gets wiped down with a damp cloth. And you can run the self-clean cycle, which removes most of the food of the bowl and blade automatically.

In the four years I’ve been using it, I’ve never had a cleaning issue.

Yes. The steamer gets vegetables and fruit to exactly the right soft texture for BLW finger foods: squish-testable between your fingers, as the guidance says.

With Theo we did a combination approach: purees for iron-rich foods we wanted to make sure went in, finger foods alongside for everything else. The KiddoKook Pro handled both in the same session. The pulse function lets you stop short of fully smooth if you want some texture, which is useful as babies move through stages.

Two modes. Auto runs a full cycle to a smooth consistency with one press. Pulse lets you blend in short bursts so you can control the texture, which is useful once your baby is ready for some lumps, or for toddler food where you want chunkier rather than smooth.

In practice I use Auto for most purees and Pulse for everything from about eight months onwards when Theo started wanting more texture.

Yes, and this is actually where I feel it earns its spot the most. Luca is nearly seven and I still use the KiddoKook Pro every week. Batch cooking blended sauces for pasta, steaming vegetables for both boys at once, reheating portions from the freezer... All of it.

The starting solids phase is maybe six months of your life. The machine keeps working long after that. We built it to grow with the family, not just with the baby.
